Press Release - UPD Case # 21-1675

On 09/10/2021, at about 1220 hours, an 86-year-old female Ukiah resident reported being threatened with a skateboard on the 700 Block of S. Oak St, in the City of Ukiah. She described 49-year-old Donald Spencer as screaming at her and raising his skateboard in an aggressive manner while threatening to strike her. The victim was walking with the assistance of a walker. Fearing for her safety, she hurried to a nearby worker who called 911 for her.

UPD officers obtained statements and located a skateboard, consistent with the reported incident. Spencer was located in his vehicle, which also served as his primary shelter, along with his dog. Spencer was belligerent with police officers and uncooperative, but he made admissions about the incident.

Spencer was ultimately arrested and booked at Mendocino County Jail for the above listed violations. His vehicle was stored and his dog is being held by the Ukiah animal shelter. The victim was provided with transportation back to her residence and adult protective services was notified.
