11377(a) HS-Misdemeanor-Possession of a controlled substance
1203.2(a) PC-Misdemeanor-Violation of probation (for DUI)
2 Misdemeanor warrants for Violation of a Court Order
On 7/16/20 at approx. 11AM, an officer had already been dispatched to the area of Talmage Rd. at 101 regarding a person possibly injecting themselves with a syringe. The officer arrived on scene and observed Michael Langley (matching the description given by dispatch to the officer) walking on the fog line in front of the Arco gas station on Talmage Rd. (615 Talmage Rd.). The officer saw that passing vehicles had to swerve into the opposing lane to avoid striking Langley with their vehicle. The officer directed Langley to a safer location and contacted Langley on the sidewalk.
The officer observed drug paraphernalia sticking out of the top of Langley’s left front pants pocket. Langley admitted to possessing narcotics in the syringe “for a friend”. The officer attempted to gain voluntary compliance to safely retrieve the syringe without success. At this time, another officer began a traffic stop on a felony warrant suspect (20-1464) in the 900 block of Mazzoni St.
Langley began to physically resist and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, Langley grabbed hold of the officer’s baton while it was holstered on his uniform. Langley continued to resist and fight with the officer. Two commendable citizens who were driving by came to assist and aid the officer in detaining Langley. UPD is extremely grateful for the citizens who came to the aid of the officer in a time of need. Langley was arrested and transported to the county jail for the above charges with a bail of $15,000. Langley was known to UPD from numerous prior contacts.

Suspect: Sharp, Donald Charles 10-20-86 transient Ukiah

11351 HS-Felony-Possession of a controlled substance for sales

1203.2(a) PC-Felony-Violation of probation (for possession of controlled substance for sales)
148(a) PC-Misdemeanor-Resist/delay officer
Felony warrant for Violation of Probation
On 7/16/20 at approx. 11 AM, an officer on routine patrol initiated a traffic stop in the 900 block of Mazzoni St. due to a subject (Donald Sharp) observed inside of the vehicle having an active felony warrant as well as being on active felony probation for possession of a controlled substance for sales. Once the vehicle stopped, Sharp immediately ran from the vehicle and ignored the officer’s verbal commands to stop. The officer ran after Sharp and was able to catch up to him after a brief foot chase. The officer was able to detain and arrest Sharp after a short struggle. After the officer walked Sharp back to the patrol vehicle, the officer searched Sharp and located just under a pound of suspected methamphetamine and just under an ounce of suspected heroin in his possession. Sharp was lodged at the county jail for the above charges. Sharp’s bail was $125,000.
