On 9/24/23, at approximately 0136 hours, a Ukiah Police Officer was on uniformed patrol in the 400 block of E. Perkins St. The officer observed a white BMW X6 failing to maintain lanes while traveling eastbound. The officer got behind the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop for the violation.

The driver identified himself as “Ahmad Hojjati” with an approximately 19-year expired identification card. The officer conducted a record check on the subject. The record check returned that the subject had a valid driver’s license and was clear of wants and warrants.

The driver was evaluated for and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol with a blood alcohol content greater than .08%. The driver was booked at the Mendocino County Jail for the above listed DUI violations.

Standard booking procedures include conducting a fingerprint scan. Upon receiving the fingerprint scan return, the driver was formally identified as Kourosh Sadeghi. Sadeghi was on federal parole for bank robbery and had an active US Marshall warrant. Sadeghi had been evading federal law enforcement for more than 30 years.

Due to Sadeghi falsely impersonating “Ahmad Hojjati” he was further booked on the violation of 529(a)(3) PC.

Collectively, Sadeghi is being held at the Mendocino County jail for the above listed charges and the US Marshall warrant.
