Statistics

Arrests included: 13 for public intoxication, 10 for drug influence and/or possessing drug paraphernalia, 4 for resisting arrest, 4 warrant arrests, 3 for shoplifting, 2 for violating probation or parole, 2 for battery, 2 for domestic violence, 2 for trespassing, 2 for vandalism, and 1 for possessing methamphetamine. Probation or parole holds were placed on 2 of these arrests.

Officers investigated 1 traffic collision, 3 hit and run traffic collisions, and 4 deaths. One vehicle was impounded for 30 days due to the driver being unlicensed or suspended.

Officers took reports of: 6 found property, 3 child neglect, 3 vandalisms, 2 for domestic violence, 2 missing persons, 2 burglaries, and 1 each of; abandoned vehicle, forgery, violation of court order, identity theft, child molest, suicidal subject, and trespassing.

Officers assisted the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office and Ukiah Valley Fire Department with a structure fire, the Red Cross with establishment of a shelter, and the California Highway Patrol with a pedestrian involved traffic collision.

Highlights for the Week

On February 26

that about 12:15 PM Ukiah Police responded to the area under the train truss bridge near Talmage Road, for a report of a subject possibly using drugs. Officers contacted 28 year old John Joseph Catalano, of Manteca, who initially retreated further under the bridge and was seen trying to conceal something near the ground. Catalano stated he was on a break from a near-by painting job, and eventually admitted he had smoked methamphetamine recently. Catalano displayed symptoms of having used drugs recently, and it was discovered he’d hidden a methamphetamine smoking pipe under the bridge. Catalano was found to be on probation in San Joaquin County. Catalano was arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia.13-0474

On February 28

that about 5:00 PM Ukiah Police contacted 24 year old Tiffany Ambrosia Moody, of Ukiah, in the 1300 block of North State Street. Moody displayed symptoms of having used drugs recently, and admitted she possessed a methamphetamine smoking pipe. Officers located the pipe in Moody’s pocket, along with several grams of marijuana, Oxycodone, Morphine, and Oxycontin tablets, and less than a gram of methamphetamine. Moody was arrested for possessing a narcotic, a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. 13-0495

On February 28

that about 8:40 PM Ukiah Police were in the 900 block of North State Street investigating a disturbance. Officers contacted 35 year old Shannon Moriah Walton, of Santa Rosa, who displayed symptoms of having used drugs recently. Walton was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested. 13-0499

On March 1

stat about 10:00 AM Ukiah Police contacted 19 year old Joseph Leonard Kepa, of Clearlake, in the 700 block of Sidnie Court. Kepa had a local warrant for his arrest, and was taken into custody. 13-0501

On March 1

st at about 4:30 PM Ukiah Police saw 37 year old Thomas Manuel Galindo, of Ukiah, staggering in the 1000 block of North State Street. Galindo was found to have been drinking, and was arrested for public intoxication and for violating his parole. 13-0507 Chris Dewey Chief of Police

On March 1

stat about 6:15 PM Ukiah Police responded to the Wal Mart parking lot, at 1155 Airport Park Boulevard, for a reported fight. Officers contacted 4 people, one of whom had a dog, who were congregating in the lot. None admitted to having been in a fight, and as the officers continued searching for the involved parties, one of the subjects, identified as 29 year old Patrick Timothy McConnon, of Lucerne, lost control of his dog. McConnon was too intoxicated to regain control of his dog, which ran toward the officers. The officers took control of the dog, and were arresting McConnon for public intoxication when he physically resisted and struggled. McConnon had a local warrant for his arrest, and was additionally charged with resisting arrest. One of the other subjects, 54 year old Wayne Eugene Pankey, of Rancho Cucamonga, was standing nearby yelling his displeasure at the officers, and demanding the dog be released to him. Pankey was also heavily intoxicated, and was arrested for public intoxication. 13-0509

On March 1

stat about 8:00 PM Ukiah Police were patrolling the Wal Mart parking lot, at 1155 Airport park Boulevard, and observed a group of subjects who appeared to have been drinking. One of the subjects, 42 year old Guy Henry Stone, of Bakersfield, stood up then fell back down in an obvious drunken stupor. Stone was arrested for public intoxication. 13-0510

On March 1

stat about 11:10 PM Ukiah Police observed 32 year old Douglas Oliver Overstreet stumbling in the 400 block of East Gobbi Street. Overstreet had been drinking heavily, and was found to have warrants for arrest from Tulare and Lake County. Overstreet was arrested for the warrants. 13-0514

On March 4

that about 7:05 PM Ukiah Police responded to the Wal Mart lot, at 1155 Airport Park Boulevard, for an argument between a man and woman. Officers determined 21 year old Javier Ramirez, of Ukiah, had been arguing with his sister. Ramirez was intoxicated, and admitted having a knife on his person. Officers found Ramirez had a fixed bladed knife concealed within his clothing. Ramirez was arrested for public intoxication and for possessing an illegal weapon. 13-0545

On March 6

th at about 10:05 PM Ukiah Police responded to the area of Low Gap Road and Oak Street for a male subject hitting signs with a skateboard. Officers contacted 23 year old Rain Masson Darden, of Kelseyville, and 23 year old Dustin Ray Jordan, of Ukiah, both of Chris Dewey Chief of Police

whom were very intoxicated. Darden was carrying a skateboard and officers determined Darden had swung the skateboard at several signs in the area out of anger, damaging them. Both subjects were arrested for public intoxication and Darden was additionally charged with vandalism. 13-0566
