Press Release Ukiah High School

PRESS RELEASE

On August 28th at about 4:50 AM Ukiah Police responded to the Ukiah High School, at 1000 Low Gap Road, for a burglary. Officers learned earlier that morning unknown suspects had broken into the cafeteria of the school, and stole numerous snack and drink items valued at over $175.00. The suspects also removed some computers, which were recovered nearby but damaged. The suspects had damaged the interior of the building, and had thrown various items about the floor.

Later that morning the Ukiah Police School Resource Officer identified one of the suspects as 19 year old Logan Andrew Rymel, and proceeded to his residence in the 1500 block of Elm Street. The officer noted some discarded stolen food items in the yard at the location, and later located a large amount of stolen food and drink items inside Rymel’s bedroom. The officers determined Rymel and 2 male juvenile suspects, one of whom was also present at the location, had been drinking, and broke into the school cafeteria and stole the food and vandalized the location. Rymel and a 17 year old male juvenile were arrested for burglary, conspiracy, vandalism, and possessing stolen property. The officer then contacted the third suspect, also a 17 year old male juvenile, at a location outside the city limits, and arrested the juvenile for the same charges.
