Crimes: Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a child under 14, ongoing Sexual Abuse of a child

The Ukiah Police Detectives have spent over 80 investigator hours in the last two weeks investigating an allegation of ongoing sexual abuse of an 11 year old Ukiah girl. This investigation led to the arrest of Jose Alfredo Arellano-Sanchez of Willits when he arrived in Ukiah this morning to meet with the 11 year old victim to provide her with a pregnancy test that he had purchased for her use. The victim reported that Arellano-Sanchez had been having sexual relations with her for at least the last 4 months. The Investigation intensified yesterday afternoon when Detectives learned the suspect’s identity and whereabouts and determined that he was coming to Ukiah today to meet with the victim. Two Detectives worked on leads on the case late into the evening at a time when the other UPD Detectives were apprehending an out of county fugitive and assisting patrol officers in a foot pursuit and eventual apprehension of a local warrant suspect.

Follow-up investigation into this sexual abuse case is continuing and Arellano-Sanchez remains in-custody in the Mendocino County Jail with Bail set at $200,000.
