RE: Ukiah Police Department Case Number #13-0121 01/15/2013

On 1/15/13 at about 7:56 PM Officers responded to the 200 block of Cherry Street to serve a felony arrest warrant. While attempting to serve the arrest warrant, Officers were contacted by a different subject who was later identified as Wesley Shultz, born in 1969. Shultz showed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a Central Nervous System stimulant. Shultz was found to be in possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun concealed on his person. Shultz was arrested for being armed while under the influence of a controlled substance and the Mendocino Major Crimes Task Force and the Ukiah Police Department Detective Division was called in to assist with the investigation.

A search warrant was authored for Shultz’s residence. Upon the service of the search warrant 19 additional firearms, an improvised explosive device, and homemade gun silencers were located and seized as evidence.

Shultz was booked into the Mendocino County Jail for the following violations:

11550(e) H&S- Possession of a firearm while under the influence of a controlled substance

12305 H&S- Possession of an explosive device

33410 PC- Possession of a silencer

12022(a)(1) PC- Armed during the commission of a felony
