On December 2nd at about 9:30 PM Ukiah Police responded to the 200 block of East Perkins Street for a male reporting to have been shot. Officers found the 19 year old male victim sitting on the sidewalk, leaning against a building, with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim reported he had been seated in his vehicle in the area of Clara and Mason Streets, when a subject known to him pointed a handgun at the victim while a second suspect tried to remove items from the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then shot the victim, who fled in his vehicle to Perkins Street, where he summoned police. The victim sustained major injury in the shooting, and was transported to the Ukiah Valley Medical Center, and later to an out-of-the area hospital for treatment.

The suspects were described as a black male adult approximately 6’2" tall, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black male adult approximately 6’ tall, last seen wearing a hooded camouflage jacket.

Assisting the Ukiah Police Department investigating this incident were members of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol.

This incident remains under investigation, and is thought to be drug related. Anybody with information is asked to call the Ukiah Police Department at 707-463-6262.
