RE: Ukiah Police Department Case Number #13-0616 3/11/2013

On March 11, 2013 at approximately 7:00 PM, Ukiah Police Officers were dispatched to 950 Waugh Lane for an interrupted burglary to a business. The suspect, a transient, later identified as 54 year old Alfred Dominiak, was observed by the owner of the business attempting to take items from inside of the store. The owner told the suspect he was going to contact the police and the suspect attempted to flee the area. The owner and the suspect got into a physical confrontation and the suspect then fled the area. The owner gave chase to the suspect and lost sight of him in the area of Waugh Lane. When Ukiah Police Officers arrived at the location the owner of the business informed the officers the suspect had possibly jumped the fence into the area of the railroad tracks.

A perimeter was established and a search was conducted for the suspect. Ukiah Police Officers located the suspect hiding behind some generators in the area and placed him into custody without further incident.

Through investigation it was determined the suspect had possible illegally entered the business on a prior occasion and sold items that he had taken.

Dominiak was booked into Mendocino County Jail for the following charges:

 Burglary

 Attempted grand theft

 Theft with prior theft convictions
